Work work work

June 30th, 2008

I haven’t been posting as regularly as usual. Well, its that time of the year when the workload is unbelievable. At this time, the bosses really get worth the salaries they are paying! But its at this time when one person is not enough to get the work done and more people are necessary. While working on a case, you get three others and all are labeled “urgent”!! And when you are finally done with one case which has proven to be a major pain in the ass, the one after turns out to be even worse! Trying to coordinate with other units so that the work goes smoothly and quickly makes things even harder. Everyone just wants to dump the work on others and think they are off the hook. After a few arguments, things get straightened out. And the cycle continues.

With all these papers, organizing work is necessary and can help save a lot of time and headache. Since the cases all follow a simple basic guideline, you can prepare a sheet with a list of items you can check off once done and then attach it to the front of the case. Skimming through it, you will know what’s missing and ask for the papers. In the meantime, you can continue working on anything else and know what is missing from each case so you can give priority to cases. Following the “one at a time” method when swamped with work could move but things will go slowly.

Good for you, finding a system. Hope you can get the others to go along with it, too!
