It was movie mayhem this weekend.  Resident Evil is the kind of movie that you need to watch more than once to get into it, but if you have seen part 1, and got to know the “mood” of the movie, you will quickly get into the sequel and enjoy each part.  As in every part, Milla Jovovich playing Alice, the main character, wakes up in some lab not knowing where she is or how she got there.  She walks around to try and find out where she is, and the suspense is already kicking in cos with this movie, the main thrills are not in how the “infected” freaks look like, but when do they pop up! I jumped a few times myself

Anyway, again the T-virus is out and infected everyone in site and now the whole world is contaminated and the remaining humans are always moving from place to place.  The Umbrella Corporation has this secret lab built way underground where many studies are happening to cure the T-virus and other inhumane tests.  And to get that serum, they are tracking down Alice as her blood is the solution to it all.

You see Alice in many tight situations but manages to get herself out.  Pretty good fight scenes and a lot of action in the movie throughout.  You don’t get bored, that is for sure… There is always something going on, and those zombies just keep getting stronger, smarter, and bigger.

I can’t say the story is all that.  But then again, it is one of those movies that you watch for the action, and not the story.  Resident evil never had that great story… a virus is out in the air, people get infected, people eat each other, hero kicks ass and saves the day, only to find herself in another situation so another addition to the sequel will come up soon.  So if you are looking for a good story, then dont bother with this movie.  But if you want some action and a good thriller that will keep you on alert….. I recommend this movie.

Grade: 3 out of 5 (I didnt give it much cos having a good story is important to me)
